Rickey in WordCamp 2007

Warning: Rickey is releasing his inner-geek this weekend. May be speaking Klingon to the general rickey.org population...

Matt Cutts SEO Google WordCamp 2007

Matt Cutts is Google's whitehat Search Engine Optimization evangelist. The best presentation of the day. He personally told me that Text-Link-Ads are eeeeevil, and one of these days Google will penalize sites which engage in Page Rank link buying and selling. Oh no! But my rent money... what about the children?

Jeremy Wright b5media WordCamp 2007

Jeremy Wright is the CEO of b5media a blog network with about 240 blogs, most unfortunately not so useful. I had some beef with one of their bloggers so I thought I'd talk to their head guy myself. Jeremy talked about blog monetization but called for volunteers to talk about their experience -- in effect letting them do his presentation for him which I thought was a bit of a cop out -- but if you think about it, that's what b5media is all about: let other people blog on their behalf and make money off other's efforts. Just practicing what he does daily. How unfortunate.

Lorelle WordCamp 2007

I talked to Lorelle VanFossen! She's fun. Some guys might find her annoying (she's perky) but I love her. She's very active in the WordPress community writing documentation and evangelizing. I got some interesting information from her. Also with Patrick Havens and Randy Stewart.

I should think of a topic to speak about next year: How to blog about American Idol and not get Fox breathing down your neck. (I am banned on the scary boards but that's a badge of honor isn't it?) San Francisco is colder than I expected this time of year. I am really tempted.
