'Little House On The Prairie' Actor Richard Bull Dead at 89

Richard Bull, who played shopkeeper Nels Oleson on Little House on the Prairie has passed away at the age of 89.

According to a spokesperson, Bull died on Monday (Feb. 3) at the Motion Picture & Television Fund's hospital from natural causes after being hospitalized with pneumonia.

Co-star Alison Arngrim, who played his daughter Nellie on the show, added of the late actor, "Everyone loved him so much. People are posting (condolences) in six different languages on my Facebook page."

She would go on to say Bull "was as Nels Oleson as you'd possibly want someone to be. He was calm, rational, sensible."

After his passing, Bull's wife Barbara Collentine had dinner with Katherine MacGregor who played Olsen's wife on the Western. Their mutual friend Dean Butler says that the women "had both lost a wonderful husband."
