'Revenge' star Emily VanCamp lands female lead in 'Captain America' sequel

It's a long way from the arms of a Grayson to the warm, freedom-loving embrace of America's go-to patriotic superhero.

But that's exactly what Emily VanCamp plans to do, as the Revenge star is reportedly on-board as the love interest for the upcoming Captain America sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

This marks VanCamp's first major film role, and she reportedly bested a long list of perspective stars to win the part, including Community's Alison Brie, Downton Abbey's Jessica Brown Findlay and the Khaleesi herself, Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke. Humorously enough, VanCamp is Sunday night rivals with the latter two actresses, as the programs on which they star air opposite Revenge in the same time slot, 9:00 PM.

While there's no evidence to prove it, I'd like to pretend that Nolan Ross had something to do with getting his girl Em the part. And no, no one is going to tell me differently, dammit.
