'Revenge' Adds Yeardley Smith (a.k.a. Lisa Simpson)

One of Sunday night's longest-running comedies meets Sunday night's sauciest drama (depending on whom you ask).

Yeardley Smith, the actress who has voiced Lisa Simpson for 25 years on The Simpsons, is joining the cast for Season 4 of Revenge!

Smith will guest star in the season premiere as Phyllis, "a fellow patient at the mental institution where Victoria was admitted (against her will) in the Season 3 finale."

And she's not coming alone either, as Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Elena Satine joins up this season as the outcast daughter of a wealthy southern family.

Also joining Satine is James Tupper, the man we've seen only in flashbacks as David Clarke. After the events of last season's finale, it should be no surprise to any longtime fan that Tupper has been upgraded to series regular this year.

So this begs the question: how is David Clarke still alive? And how integral will his role be (especially since Tupper's upgraded status implies a regular role in the narrative for David Clarke)? Hell, is it even David Clarke at all, or is it a twin or some other convoluted relation? I can't wait to get an explanation. This show hardly ever disappoints in the crazy department.

And to think, we're only a month away! Revenge returns Sunday, Sept. 28, at 10/9c on ABC. Coincidentally enough, The Simpsons premieres its 26th Season on the same night, at 8/7c on FOX.
