Rent - Filmed Live on Broadway

I watched a matinee performance of Rent on Broadway last Saturday.

I think I've turned into a bit of a musical theater snob: I wasn't "surprised" that Rent was closing shop because the quality of the performances was noticeably mediocre to me. Some of the acting was really bad and I heard a lot bum notes from some of the actors. The material also felt dated.

I did however cry at some parts like during "Will I" and "I'll Cover You" -- because I'm just an emotional wreck and easily swayed. But in general, I felt like: Rent should have been Act I and then "Seasons of Love" and then end.

If you want to watch the final cast of Rent on Broadway, you still have a chance to watch it -- this time in the movie theaters. The showings are on September 24, 25, 27 and 28. Check out the Hot Ticket website for details: Rent Filmed Live on Broadway
