Amy Brenneman has gone from Judging Amy to Private Practice, and now she's headed to French court.
Brenneman has been cast in The CW's Reign as Marie de Guise, the mother of Mary, Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane). The actress took to Twitter to confirm the news, calling the role “badass”:
Yep,it's true. Off to a wardrobe fitting to play the badass, Marie de Guise, on @CWReign. Watch out, @AdelaideKane, mama's coming!

Brenneman has remained busy since Private Practice came to an end last year, as she was recently cast in HBO's hotly-anticipated adaptation of Tom Perrotta's The Leftovers, from Lost scribe Damon Lindelof and co-starring Six Feet Under alum Justin Theroux.
