Reigan Derry Signs With Sony Music
Reigan Derry may not have won The X Factor Australia 2014, finishing the competition in fourth place, but she was among the most buzzed-about contestants all season. And that buzz, along with her unquestioned talent, has carried her to a new record deal.
The 26-year-old Derry has signed with Sony Music, and will release her new single, "All Of The Pieces," in December. However, the song will premiere on Australian radio on November 20. The track will be the first single from her EP of the same name, which is expected to also feature studio versions of some of her most popular tracks from her stint on The X Factor Australia. and is expected to also appear on her debut solo album, which will be released in early 2015.
Reigan confirmed all the good news on Facebook, while also unveiling the album artwork: "I am THRILLED to announce that today I begin my journey with and will be releasing my new EP ‘All Of The Pieces’ on Dec 12! And even more excited to announce that it’s available to preorder today!"

It's great news for fans of Reigan who, like me, still can't believe she didn't manage to at least make it into The X Factor Grand Final. Of course, actually winning competitions like these don't seem to matter as much as enduring on them does. Not only did Reigan last long enough to build an outstanding resume of performances, she also built a pretty big fanbase, and a general buzz around her talent and star quality. Reigan Derry was the biggest no-brainer for a record deal among the contestants who didn't actually win this season. Hell, her All of the Pieces EP is already #8 on iTunes in Australia, simply on preorders alone. I'm hoping her album will be a smash in Australia, but I'm even more hopeful that she'll manage to bring her talent stateside someday.
