Recap and review of Real Husbands of Hollywood Season 1 Episode 8 – Hollyhood Scuffle

In last week's episode, Kevin Hart got tricked by JB Smoove and ends up without his clothes and arrested by the police! In this week's episode he writes a tell all book about the rest of the guys and they are now out for vengeance

Kevin throws a party at the club where Trey Songz is at. Three hours later Kevin asks Trey about his tab and Trey says there is no one and he dips with Nick.

Kevin arrives then to talk with Big Boy at Power 106 to talk about his new book and fame. He's beat up with a cane and stitches. He sees singer Estelle in the hallway and Estelle tells him what she saw on Twitter and Kevin talks about her English accent. She says they are the ones who created the language!

Kevin says his fans tried to mob him and that's what happened. Big Boy doesn't believe that and said someone must have threw him into a fan. They go on air Big Boy asks him about the new book, The Real Story of the Real Husbands of Hollywood. Kevin tries to get situated and falls out of the chair and the cane goes into the air. He sends Oliver to go get him some tea. Kevin reminds him the book is a TV show too and Big Boy says of course, thats why the camera is here and he has make up on.

Big Boy says that people say the book is a knock-out, people want to knock him out. Kevin disses the reviews on the book and say who actually reads the Los Angeles Times. Kevin says he's at a point now where people want to know the truth, and he's about telling the truth. Kevin said he tells nothing but the truth!

It flashes back to six months ago with Kevin talking to Trina and the book publisher and he says he doesn't want to do the book because it is disrespecting him and his homies. But then the publisher says the figure for publishing it is 7 figures! This peaks Kevin's interest and he decides that he wants to do it and tells Trina to close the deal.

Big Boy brings up about a chapter being on Boris and Kevin says he's making them relevant and they begged him to make the book! It flashes back five months ago with Kevin playing golf with Nick, Faison, and JB. Kevin says Nick should ask Mariah what a cash advance is when he doesn't realize what is going on with the book deal. JB says he's never even seen Kevin read a sign - how can he write a book. Kevin says his book is going to be green with that 7 figure advance.

JB pulls up a phone call from when Kevin butt dialed him and his ex-wife was beating up his car. Kevin says it doesn't matter because the ink in his book will be the payback. After they go off the air Big Boy makes sure that his dudes are okay with Kevin writing the book. Actually its a flashback and Nick, JB and Kevin ready to come confront Kevin about the book. Tiffany, the nanny is there and confronts them with sass. Robin takes off his glasses and persuades her and then they spot Oliver. They run upstairs. Kevin is on the toilet reading the book and he runs out and they are chasing him!

Nick says they are about to beat his a**! Kevin locks himself in a room and leaves Oliver to fend for himself. Oliver tells them they have to leave but they shove him out the way. Kevin sees the them from the camera and asks "Why are you mitches here?" Nick says the only reason he is there because he isn't in the book and Kevin says the only big thing he has done was kiss Countess Vaughn in the Parkers. LOL!!!!

It flashes back to the present with the interview and Big Boy and Kevin insists that nothing is wrong with him and his boys and he was signing books for the fans. We go to the book signing and Boris, JB and Nick show up and they are about to get him! One woman asks for Boris' autograph and Nick wants to sign it but she doesn't want it and says he can sign it to Mariah's biggest fan! Kevin tries to continue the book signing but Bridgette shows up and throws the books at his head! (SN: Bridgette is really Angel Conwell from The Young and the Restless) Bridgette announces she has a book deal and it is bigger than Kevin's. They start arguing. Her book talks about how Kevin wasn't there at the birth of their children, he slept with a stripper at his bachelor party, and more! JB says this is what it feels like to be lied on. The people who want to sign the book begin to mob him, just like he said!

They are back at the radio station and Kevin says there is no truth that he got his tail whipped by a mob women at the same time. Kevin thanks Big Boy and he thanks him and Kevin falls in the flower pot then Oliver has to help him up. He goes to apologize to Boris, JB, Nick and Faizon and apologizes for breaking Guy Code and says he plans to do better. He said he would donate a small portion of the proceeds to their charities. Boris said he would be he can't act! JB says that he can't buy him.

Kevin says he was just angry when he wrote it and he doesn't mean it. He has learned that friends are important than money, marriage and the book and he just wants his friends back. Nick says they are fine but they still want to get him back. Kevin says as much money as the book is going to make they should have taken the checks. They throw him into the water and Kevin says he still ends up richer, but Bridgette says she gets half!

Review: This was not one of the very best episodes so far like "Trick'd" and "It's Gettin' Hot in Herrre," but I did appreciate that the plot was centralized, we got flashbacks, and as far as story goes. It wasn't just the story that was good though, everyone brought it and we got to see ample amounts of time of the rest of the cast too. A lot of missteps, but very good episode overall.
