Ray Rice's Wife Releases Statement Condemning the Media

Ray Rice has been vilified in the media following the release of a video depicting Rice punching his then-fiancee/current-wife, Janay Palmer, in the face during a heated encounter in an elevator at the now-closed Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The running back had his contract terminated by the Baltimore Ravens, and he found himself suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

However, Janay Rice is standing by her man.

In an emotional statement released on her private Instagram account Tuesday morning, Janay spoke up in her husband's defense, condemning the media for drudging up an incident she felt was better left in the past. The Rices have been in counseling since the elevator incident in February, but the surfacing of the video, as Janay tells it, has thrown her family life into turmoil.

"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," Janay Rice wrote. "But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that [the] media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass [off] for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific."

Janay would go on to write, "THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

So where do you fall on this whole Ray Rice incident?
