Ratings Thursday: 'American Idol' has lowest rated show ever, close to all-time low - 03/21/2014
American Idol had its least rated show ever and had its second least watched show in 13 seasons.
It had a 1.9 adult rating and 8.37 million viewers. This is the first time Idol has fallen below 2.0. The show also dropped below 9 million viewers again and is very close to going below 8 million. The least watched Idol show was back in Season 1 with 7.5 million viewers, the only time Idol was below 8 million. We just might break that record this season. I know it's horrible, but I'm excited? I love breaking records!
Scandal had a 2.9 adult rating and 8.92 million viewers, the #1 and most watched show of the night.
The Vampire Diaries had a 1.0 rating and 2.24 million viewers.
Reign had a 0.7 rating and 1.84 million viewers.
Grey's Anatomy had a 2.4 rating and 7.87.
Thoughts: This season is without a doubt the revenge of Simon Cowell on Idol. Just a few months after The X Factor was canceled by FOX, Idol now has very close to The X Factor ratings! Also, what will happen next week when Idol has a half-hour results show? There's two months left to the season. FOX canceled The X Factor with these ratings -- can they do it to Idol?
Discuss! We must!
