Ratings: 'The Voice' beats 'The Bachelorette' despite series low
Update: The Voice adjusted up to 3.2

The ratings are in, and the top 8 performance show of The Voice stepped casually over ABC's season premiere of The Bachelorette for the Memorial Day win.
NBC was number one with adults 18-49, and with total viewers. However, it comes with a bit of a catch: The Voice hit a series low for a performance show with a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating, down 11 percent from last week's 3.5. However, this is to be expected somewhat, given that Memorial Day is, historically, a night where not a whole lot of people are watching TV anyway. That said, despite the Memorial Day handicap, Revolution was able to remain even with last week, scoring a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating.
Over on ABC, the season premiere of The Bachelorette delivered a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, which is down 27 percent from the 2.6 for last season’s 90 minute premiere, though that season had the good fortune of premiering on May 14, 2012, following a new episode of Dancing with the Stars -- instead of, you know, on Memorial Day. So it isn't that big of a surprise to discover that this was the show’s lowest rated premiere ever, although The Bachelorette brand isn't as strong as its cousin, The Bachelor (although one would expect that a house full of hot guys would play better to the demo than a house full of beautiful women, but alas). The special episode of 20/20 that followed the premiere, Bringing Up Baby: Royal Edition, about Prince William and Kate Middleton, scored a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating. This is even with Motive’s performance in the time slot last week.
On FOX, The Goodwin Games remained even with last week's premiere, delivering a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. The CW, meanwhile, aired a movie for Memorial Day, instead of burning off original programming on a night of historically low viewership. The movie scored a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating, which is about as good as can be expected.
Rickey should be by later to update with the final numbers. Until then, let us know what you think about the ratings in the comments!
