Ratings: Glee posts huge debut on Tuesday

Glee had a 5.5 rating on Tuesday - 50% up from last year's debut. NCIS was the most watched with 18.92 million followed by Dancing with the Stars with 18.31 million. DWTS had a 4.3 rating.

From TVbytheNumbers:

With a 5.5 rating with adults 18-49, Glee was up more than 50% from its premiere on September 9, 2009 and easily was the top program among the ad-centric demo for the night and 12.3 million viewers. In its second half hour, Glee scored a 5.6 adults 18-49 rating

Glee looks to have hurt the Dancing with the Stars results show as its combined average for the two hours was a 3.4 rating with adults 18-49. That’s down 3% from last fall, but the second hour was very strong with a 4.3 rating.

A bit of teeth-gritting at CBS as the premiere of NCIS was down nearly 20% from last year’s premiere with adults 18-49, and last night’s two hour premiere of NCIS: LA was down over 25% vs. the one hour premiere last year with adults 18-49.
