Ratings: American Idol wins Wednesday

21 million viewers tuned in to see Paige Miles miss her chance at the American Idol 9 Summer Tour. Idol was up 4% from last week's results show.

With American Idol up 4% with adults 18-49 versus last week, its 7.1 rating and 21 million viewers were easily enough to lead FOX to a nightly win despite Human Target dropping 13% at 8pm. Due to NCAA basketball coverage, Human Target had to take on Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.

Survivor easily won the 8pm hour with a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating and nearly 11 million viewers. At 9pm American Idol dominated, though Modern Family was still strong with a 3.6 rating for adults 18-49.
