Ratings: 'American Idol' hits all time low on Thursday, 'Scandal' up - 2/28/2014
American Idol had its lowest rated show ever with a 2.3 adult rating and 9.81 million viewers on Thursday.
The Big Bang Theory had a 4.9 rating and 17.50 million viewers, the #1 and most watched show of the night.
Scandal returned with a 3.3 rating and 9.27 million viewers.
Three other shows beat Idol in the ratings last night: The Millers (2.8), Grey's Anatomy (3.0) and Two and a Half Men (2.5).
The Vampire Diaries had a 0.9 rating and 1.95 million viewers.
Reign had a 0.5 rating and 1.31 million viewers.
Should I worry for American Idol? Maybe not. It's certainly going to be renewed. But if it falls below 2 this season, that would be a big blow to the psyche. We've never seen Idol perform this low before ever.
I'm thinking that once the country singers like Dexter Roberts and CJ Harris leave, fans will just stop watching.
