Ratings: American Idol down from last week, down 7% from last season

Ratings American Idol down from last week down 7 from last season

A disappointing ending as far as the performance shows go for American Idol: Down from last week's show (6.2 vs. 7.4) and down 7% from last season. However, it was still the #1 show of the night.

The #2 show was Glee with 4.6 followed by Dancing with the Stars at 4.5. The Voice drew a 3.8 and The Biggest Loser 3.1.

Should The Voice be worried that Dancing with the Stars beat it? They are going head to head next year, but we are comparing a finale to a regular air so it's still up in the air.

As far as number of viewers are concerned, Dancing with the Stars beat American Idol by 1 million viewers, becoming the first show in history to top an Idol Tuesday finale.

Also last night was the most watched entertainment night of the season! Amazing!

@FOX_Research: 51.0m viewers watched the Big 4 (FOX/ABC/CBS/NBC) in primetime last night - most watched night of entertainment programming this season
