Ratings: American Idol down 8% from last week, down 21% from last season

American Idol slips in the ratings, but the competition fared even worse!

Idol was down 8% from last week and down 21% from last season -- which is a big dip from previous Wednesday shows which were only down about 8% from the previous season.

Survivor: Redemption Island opened to Survivor's worst ratings premiere ever, and down 29% vs. last spring's premiere. It was also the shows lowest rated show ever.

Modern Family fell 16% from last week.

American Idol’s 8.1 adults 18-49 rating was down 8% from last Wednesday, and 21% from last season’s fifth Tuesday (10.2 rating, not sure if that was a 2 hr. ep).

CBS’s Survivor: Redemption Island premiered with a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating, down 29% vs. last spring’s premiere to not only its lowest premiere ever, but its lowest rated regular episode ever.

Modern Family’s 4.3 rating was down 16% from last Wednesday, and the second episode of Mr. Sunshine tumbled to a 2.6 rating, 30% below its premiere last week.
