Ranking the American Idol 9 Top 5 - Lee Dewyze is #1
What a shocking turn of events!
Siobhan Magnus was number #1 for the week in terms of pageviews on Rickey.org, but since she is no longer in the competition, I have decided to give our #1 ranking leading up to the Top 5 to Lee Dewyze who was #2 for the week.
Crystal Bowersox remains the favorite to win American Idol with her #1 average season ranking.
Lee Dewyze is now the new #2 for the season, his highest ranking.
Casey James is #3 this week and is now #3 for the season.
Crystal Bowersox is #4 this week.
Aaron Kelly is #5 this week and is #5 for the season.
Michael Lynche is #6 this week and is #4 for the season.
Notes:
I'm still stunned. Don't you guys vote? How can Siobhan have more than double the pageviews of Michael Lynche this week and then get voted off?
Siobhan was arguably the most popular contestant here on Rickey.org -- and I didn't even need to pimp her as much. Boggles the mind really. First rule of being a fan: if you want to keep your favorite in the competition, you have to vote (or get a judges save). I'm shocked that Siobhan fans didn't vote enough, when she had the most popular performance of the week. She was even in the pimp spot! That position rarely gets voted off in the 9 seasons of American Idol.
On the flipside, Lee Dewyze - our dark horse pick since the beginning - is moving up. He can really make a run now at the title. He has 3 weeks to find his "moment".
I also believe that Aaron Kelly has positioned himself nicely for a potential stab at the Top 3. He is up against Michael Lynche and Casey James -- and age is on Aaron's side. He's the only one left on the show keeping the show's demo from going into Dancing with the Stars territory.
Some people can argue that Siobhan leaving clears the way for a Crystal Bowersox win. I disagree. If they wanted Crystal to be a sure winner, they would have gotten rid of Lee. However, as it stands now, Crystal is still the odds on favorite to become the next American Idol.
