Randy Jackson has dinner with Simon Cowell - Is he out of American Idol?

TMZ has a photo of Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell posing with a fan last night, before a late dinner at Ceconni's in West Hollywood.

The two have remained friends even after Simon left American Idol. It's interesting that they would be talking now -- is Randy's job in peril? I hope not! Save Randy Jackson! He's the heart and soul of American Idol!

From TMZ:

With "American Idol" judges dropping like flies, it's quite interesting that Randy Jackson caught up with old pal Simon Cowell over dinner in West Hollywood last night.

The former co-workers posed for a pic with a fan before grabbing a little late dinner at Ceconni's, showing up around 11:30 PM. It's unclear what the topic of conversation was, but we're told Randy and Simon have remained good friends since Simon jumped ship in 2010.

Watch your back, L.A. Reid. Just saying ...
