Ralph Lauren's Team USA Olympic Outfits Revealed - PHOTO

Designer Ralph Lauren was commissioned to create the outfits for Team USA at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. So how did they turn out?

Well, you can check out the photo below and decide for yourself. But yeah, it's...well, it's something. The red, white and blue cardigan is accented with the American flag, the Olympic rings, and a parade of stars and stripes, and while the cardigans actually pair quite nicely with the white fleece athletic pants, the cream cotton turtleneck sweater and the black leather boots, this does nothing to change the fact that the cardigan itself looks like a tacky Christmas sweater you whip out whenever your grandmother comes to visit so she doesn't feel offended that you never wear it.

The cardigan retails for $595, basically making this the most expensive cardigan you'll ever see at an ugly sweater party. All items were made in the USA, in response to the backlash in 2012 when it was revealed that the Team USA outfits were actually made in China. So yeah, much more patriotic this time around. And that's not the only America-centric change, as 100 percent of the proceeds of the Limited Edition Team USA Opening Ceremony Cardigan will be donated to the U.S. Olympic Committee.

For the most part, I like these outfits. Of course, how many variations on a star-spangled, red, white, and blue outfit can you really put together? So credit to Lauren for doing what he could with what he had, even if I don't think I'd be caught in this anywhere but within the comfort of my own nook.

What do you think of these outfits? Too gaudy? Too subtle? Or just right? Sound off in the comments!
