Quentin Tarantino Suing Gawker for Promoting His Leaked Script

Director Quentin Tarantino's script for his next planned film The Hateful Eight leaked online last week and now he's suing Gawker Media for sharing said script.

You may remember that Gawker was also sued by Hulk Hogan for sharing his horrifying sex tape and Lena Dunham for posting (at length) her recent book proposal.

Tarantino's lawsuit reads, "Gawker Media has made a business of predatory journalism, violating people’s rights to make a buck ... This time they went too far."

He is currently suing for copyright infringement, saying that, "Rather than merely publishing a news story reporting that Plaintiff's screenplay may have been circulating in Hollywood without his permission, Gawker Media crossed the journalistic line by promoting itself to the public as the first source to read the entire Screenplay illegally."

You can make your own assumptions based on the original post on Gawker's site Defamer entitled, "Here Is the Leaked Quentin Tarantino Hateful Eight Script."

In response to the leak, Tarantino has halted plans to turn the Western into a film for now.

You know, since one or more of the six people he gave the first draft of the script to leaked the entire thing online.
