Que Bonita Bandera - Oh, the Humanity!

The day started really with me recovering from four glasses of different wines from a dinner party I went to (will write about that in a future post) at 3 AM. I'm quite thankful that I finally have my AC in the room so when I decided to sleep, it was easy. Juliana gave me a wake up call at 9 AM. I rushed to her place on 23rd Street and we did a reshoot of her homework for her intensive film class at the New School. Of all things, we were filming one minute of Rickey, the Jedi Knight. Hahaha.
I really didn't know what to do next so I ended up taking a bus to the Big Apple Barbecue block party. What surprised me was: people were forming these long lines to their favorite barbecue pit master. I considered lining up at random, but I really did not want to wait. However, if I lined up at a short line then it probably won't be as good as the long ones people are willing to wait one hour in line for. I chickened out. While I walked around, I took pictures of the All-Star BBQ Showdown which was filming nearby:

So I decided to walk up Fifth Avenue and go to the Puerto Rican Day parade. OMG. There were so many Puerto Ricans, I almost had a *beep* *beep*! The one unfortunate event happened however when this nun asked me for money for St. Joseph's orphanage and when I ignored her, she called me a creep. Beware of this fake nun! She's evil! (Pictured here, conning some revelers.)
I stayed for two hours, but I gave up when I started to feel really sticky being under the sun too long. I originally wanted to walk up Fifth and take pictures of the wood that the rich folk on the Gold Coast put up on their windows and lawns to keep the Puerto Ricans out, but I got too tired. They will probably be there again next year -- those millionaires only do it on this day, what a shame really.

Heading back home, I passed Madison Square Garden to see if Anthony Fedorov was still there, but the Liberty game had ended, so I just went home.
