Puppy Johns Explained - Let the Fan Wars End

(Everyone please read. Here is the explanation for Puppy Johns from Kelly:)

I am the 'creator', for lack of a better term, of the phrase "Puppy Johns". I'm part of a wonderful family of fans of David Cook, and I am also a huge fan of Michael Johns. I think he's talented, funny, and a really awesome guy (and friend) that i respect. I would never ever make fun of any of the idols, or anyone for that matter. Puppy Johns is not Michael Johns. Let me repeat that. Puppy Johns IS NOT MICHAEL! It's a name i made up for his dog that somehow made it's way to the actual man. Let me tell you the story of how i made it up in the first place.

I said earlier i am a part of a family, this family resides within a 'fangirl' thread on david-cook.org. We are a little rowdy at times but I have formed true connections with a lot of those women and even if we've never met I love them all. Anyway we also have a very soft spot in our hearts for Michael and his friendship with David. And, i won't lie, a lot of us do find the man very attractive. So we post pictures. Share the wealth and all that. One of these pictures happened to be from People magazine, talking about how Michael is sad he's having to leave his puppy behind for the tour. I saw this, thought the dog, David Putty (puddy? I still have no idea how to spell it!), was absolutley adorable. I'm a sucker for a cute dog. So i made a harmless little comment saying something along the lines of "Look, it's Papa (Michael) and Puppy Johns (the DOG)"

It stuck with the fangirls, and it was kind of a thing for us, and then my good friend told me about rickey.org and how he was broadcasting the concert through cell phone. How COOL!? In the time between making up Puppy Johns (a name for the dog, i'll repeat is as often as i have to!) and knowing about this i figured...how sweet would it be to have Michael actually hear about Puppy johns. So i got my freind Steph to try to get Rickey to say Puppy Johns during the first night. He did and i flipped! 15 seconds of fame...never thinking it would catch on. But it did. Rickey loved it, and said it as often as he could. Rickey and Puppy Johns FTW everyone!

It got to the Idols, they said it (woot, ya'll, woot!), and then the sheesh hit the fan. Everyone seems to think that Puppy Johns is supposed to be Michael. And that it's a way to 'mock' him for some unknown reason. This could not be further from the truth. I said it earlier, I am a huge fan of Michael Johns, I LOVE his pre-idol music (the falling's future unknown, film's rolling..., and his own solo CD are all in my itunes and get played as often as anything Imogen Heap and Analog Heart), i was PISSED the night he got voted off, i know he went WAY too soon, and i threw a pillow at my plasma TV that night.

Puppy Johns is a name for a dog. It's a name for a dog that's owned by Michael Johns who calls himself Papa Johns. It's a play on his own nickname. Please stop the hating, it's baseless but I do get that if you didn't know the origin it could be seen as it has been. It was never ever meant to be disrespectful towards Michael, or any of the idols. I'm sorry it has been seen as such, and I for one still think it's cute and will continue to use it.

One last time. Puppy Johns Is A Dog And NOT Michael.

As for Kitty Castro. That one isn't mine...you'll have to talk to David Cook if you have a problem with that one. :D

(For me, I imagined "Puppy Johns" to be that image of Michael Johns with his puppy -- like that's Puppy Johns: Michael Johns with his puppy -- but I will accept this explanation as truth. Puppy Johns Forever! Nobody really knew what it was but we loved it! Puppy Johns!!! -- Rickey)
