Project Runway 7 - Episode 9: Takin' It to the Streets - Recap

I almost had a heart attack last night watching Project Runway.
Challenge: Create two looks inspired by a distinct in New York Neighborhood
The designers got paired up in teams of 2: Amy Sarabi and Jonathan, Anthony and Maya, Emilio Sosa and Seth Aaron... and Jay Nicolas Sario and Mila. Emilio set up the pairing of Jay and Mila by picking second to last, and he knew that Jay and Mila did not like each other. Ooooo, so mischievous Emilio!
Also, Emilio is so cute when he's happy, unlike 2 episodes ago when he failed the challenge.
So this week was all about Jay Nicolas -- will he survive his team-up with Mila? I was afraid.
Emilio and Seth Aaron were assigned to Harlem -- and they both came up with great coordinated looks. Jay and Mila were assigned to the Lower East Side -- and they kinda had some symmetry going on, but Jay just bombed with his execution. He designed a poofy pair of pants and paired it with an awful looking tanktop. It was not good.
At the judging, for the first time this season, Michael Kors was absent - which was a little disappointing. Also, the product placement for makeup and hair product was quite heavy handed tonight with that makeup dude getting some airtime again.
RESULTS
Emilio and Seth Aaron win. And a double win. First ever in the history of Project Runway. Emilio was very happy. And he looked really cute.
Anthony and Maya were also safe. Sheesh, when is she leaving? I now realize it was a good move to not include her in the Bryan Park fashion shows because it did throw us off -- although it did give a spoiler that she won't make it in the end, we just don't know when. Maybe next week? (Again!)
Jay Nicolas ended in the Bottom 2. And I was clutching my purse fearing for the worst.
But Amy Sarabi was auf'ed!
Whew. That was a bit of a scare. I cannot continue enjoying this show without gay Filipino cutie designer.
Over at Models of the Runway:
Amy Sarabi's model Holly was not chosen.
