Project: Runway
Project: Runway is back baby!
OMG - I LOVE THIS SHOW!
---

To all potential Project: Runway designer wannabees out there: The first rule of Project: Runway: You have to know how to sew with the goddam sewing machine! Good god, it just makes me want to drop everything, go to Parsons, take some "design" lessons and audition for Project: Runway 4. Hey, if someone who doesn't know how to use the sewing machine can make it, maybe I have a good chance. It seems there's always one slot reserved for that one person who will ask directions on how to use the sewing machine/complain that its not working. The end result of course is they get eliminated early. And this season's early exit due to sewing machine malfunction is: Stacey!

Anyway, I like Robert Best, Barbie's designer for 10 years. He has that same Nick Verreos vibe that is endearing to me, plus the elegant aesthetic (LOL) of Chloe Dao. I think he's a front-runner to win this. It was also great how he bitched about working for Isaac Mizrahi.

I'm also going to cheer for Michael Knight from ATL. I thought his coffee filter dress was very creative, but mostly I want to see more of him because - HELLO??? - where are the people of color? Sure, we get a German, some prick who was born in Taiwan but doesn't look or sound like it (more on this later) and a white girl with a Spanish sounding last name. But we are literally getting a token black dude this season. What's up with that? I liked the mix they had from last season. By the way, Michael's the first African American male on Project: Runway so naturally we all want to see him do well.
I'm also interested in Laura Bennett (the architect, who probably could afford to start her line on her own and looks like is on this show for the fun of it), Bonnie Dominguez (who designed Serena Williams' tennis outfits -- woohoo!), Katherine Gerdes (the snowboarder who's really nice) and Angela Keslar (who says: "to her designing is as natural as giving birth" - gotta love that soundbite.)
And now the forces of evil:
Last season, Santino Rice basically owned the dark side, even if he did have some classic moments. This season however, I see a deadly trinity of egos that will give Nina Garcia nightmares.
Malan Breton, who was born in Taiwan and with a friggin' British accent. When Jay McCarroll told me that everyone on the show is fake (wait a minute, did I just drop Jay McCarroll's name in this post? LOL), well, this is it. Apparently, Malan has auditioned 3 times, was accepted for Season 2, but turned it down, only to come back and audition again for Season 3. I can't stand him. But he will be entertaining for sure.
Kieth Michael. Dammit he's cute. But his ego is also the size of Heidi Klum's tummy. A men's wear designer who looks like he will get farther than Emmett of Season 2. But he's so arrogant and evil. I can't stand him.
Jeffrey Sebelia. One word: Feathers. OMG. His model came out on the runway in a puff of feathers. He's the over-the-top designer this year, who typically thinks he's better than everyone else. His neck tattoo also scares me (but that's not why I can't stand him). It's the arrogance that I can't stand. According to his bio, he's a friend of Santino Rice. Aha!

Finally, someone completely unexpected:
And Vincent was his name... haha. The basket hat. Classic. Vincent Libretti is facing his demons and going back to the fashion world at age 49. Santino commented that his portfolio was like looking at a time capsule. Wow. Go Vincent! Don't let people like me bring you down. Fight!
I think this is going to be another great season. I loved Season 2, but its useless to compare since its a new cast. I just want to be entertained with what is given me -- and so far its been good!
