Pretty Little Liars - The New Normal - Recap
If you were paying attention last week and decided to screencap the Braille Toby gave Spencer like I did..you already know what it says. If you didn't, then just stay tuned. Spencer and the girls look over the note Toby left for Spencer and try to decipher it. Aria isn't joining in. She's too busy sulking in a corner and being a bitch because she's mad at Hanna. With all that effort put in, you would think this fight would have lasted longer than a day. Spencer decodes the message to say BAD. What's bad? Well, a lot of things but we know she's decoded it wrong.
Hanna's mom has decided to return what little money she has left of Mrs. Potter's before any suspicions arise. Unfortunately for her, a relative shows up to claim everything. It's suspicious because Mrs. Potter said she didn't have any family. He's charming and asks Hanna's mom out for drinks and picks her up at the house where Caleb is able to size the guy up in about 3 seconds and know he's full of crap. Caleb does some digging on the guy out of the goodness of his heart and is able to discover that he's using a dead guy's identity. When he comes to claim the money and questions the amount inside, Hanna's mom calmly tries to pressure him into revealing he's lying. Are they safe for now?
Spencer goes to Toby to ask why he left her a bogus clue and he tells her she's reading it wrong. While out clothes shopping, the girls overhear Jenna buying lingerie. "He likes lace." Who? Toby?..or someone else? I have my theories. If it is Toby, Jenna may be wanting to celebrate the fact that Toby is practically a free man. The charges have been dropped and he doesn't need to wear a monitoring bracelet anymore. Spencer goes to drive him to the courthouse and has an awkward showdown with Jenna because Jenna would rather be with Toby. This chick is crazy.
Paige's dad shows up to the school to be a royal douche about the fact that Emily is outshining his daughter. He accuses the school of giving Emily preferential treatment because she's gay. Emily's mom has no idea until Ella tells her so she shows up to the school to lay a smackdown on Paige's dad. And ya know, finally be a decent mom. Emily and her mom hug it out and reach an understanding. Emily goes to her car to drive home and Paige pops up in the next seat. Emily really needs to learn to lock her doors. Paige acts annoying and accuses Emily of having an easy life and then..kisses her. I'm having some serious Glee-Kurt-Karofsky flashbacks.
Spencer figures out that the Braille message actually reads the number 214. But it could be anything and Toby has no clue. He tells Spencer that before he got that from Jenna's room, she was on the phone with someone else talking about Spencer. He's worried that Spencer and her friends could be in danger because Jenna is still afraid of them. Toby and Spencer grow a little closer but if I was Spencer I wouldn't test Jenna's temper. She seeees. As the two of them are driving home they pass a motel and the camera zooms in on the room number 214. Who or what is in there?
