ABC Family has set its summer schedule, which includes returning hits that includes the return of hits "Pretty Little Liars" and "Switched at Birth", and four new series, including scripted dramas "Twisted" and the Jennifer Lopez-produced "The Fosters."
"The Fosters" will debut June 3 at 9 p.m. following the one-hour series finale of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager." "Fosters" stars Teri Polo and Sherri Saum as two mothers raising a family of mixed ethnicity, including both foster and biological children. Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez also star.
"Switched at Birth" returns one week later on June 10 at 8 p.m. ET. to continue its current Season 2 run.
Season 4 of "Pretty Little Liars" will premiere on June 11 at 8 p.m. ET, leading into the 9 p.m. premiere of "Twisted," a new mystery drama starring Avan Jogia as a 16-year-old prime suspect in a murder investigation. The series also stars Maddie Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Kimberly Quinn, Sam Robards, Ashton Moio and Denise Richards.
As for other series in the summer lineup:
ABC Family comedies "Melissa and Joey" and "Baby Daddy" return for new seasons on May 29, seguing into the premiere of reality competition "Dancing Fools," which is essentially "America's Funniest Home Videos" if every video was centered on increasingly outrageous dances. The winner gets a $10,000 cash prize.
In addition, new docudrama "The Vineyard," about a group of twentysomethings spending the summer on Martha's Vineyard, premieres July 24 at 9 p.m.
There's been no mention of "Bunheads" just yet, nor "The Lying Game," so if you weren't already nervous about those series' renewal prospects, now would be the time to start emailing ABC Family to let them know you want the shows to stick around. Because (yeah, I'll say it) it would be an absolutely savage injustice for "Bunheads" to be canceled.
