'Predator' Reboot Coming from 'Iron Man 3' Director Shane Black
Well, never let it be said that one failed reboot would be a deterrent for Hollywood trying again. After 2010's Predators failed to capture the public consciousness in the way the 1987 original did, it seemed like a proposed new franchise was dead in the water. Except Hollywood doesn't always give up that easily.
20th Century Fox is giving the Predator franchise another shot, and they're bringing in one of Hollywood's most talented action writers -- and a damn solid director -- to helm the film. Shane Black, best known as the director of the enormously successful Iron Man 3, has been brought on board to direct. No word on when we can expect this film, but is anyone the least bit surprised that Hollywood is giving Predator another go? It seems reboots are the new black in showbiz. That said, if you're going to do a reboot, go full Expendables and just get all the old guys back together like nothing happened. If you're going to play on nostalgia, really play on it.
