Posthumous Johnny Cash Album, 'Out Among The Stars' Due March 25
Artists such as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash are always going to be the subject of multiple posthumous recordings long after their death, as more and more tapes and songs surface over the years.
This is exactly what happened recently with a collection of songs that Johnny's son, John Carter Cash, recently unearthed, and found to his delight that they were perfect takes and a great selection of songs. They were recorded in the early 80's with Billy Sherrill, when Johnny was signed Columbia Records and they were trying to market him to the pop-country Urban Cowboy phase. When Johnny was dropped from the label in 1986, he kept the tapes, and stashed them away.
Now, they are going to be released as a collection entitled Out Among The Stars, and are due for release on March 25. The record includes duets with Waylon Jennings and June Carter Cash.
