Post-op - Update - Darn

After having soup for 2 weeks, I've been craving for real food. Actually I've been craving burgers, barbecue, the works. I just want to eat! At any rate, the throat finally is not painful, so last Monday I decided to treat myself with some burgers and a rootbeer at Shake Shack. So I lined up, got my burgers and prepared to feast. Root beer was okay -- I think it tasted like rootbeer. And then I took a bite from the burger -- waaaaaaa! It tasted awful. Correction: It tasted great, but I couldn't tell because my tastebuds are all whack. OMG. The pleasure of eating, gone! I called my doctor, and told him that I finally turned the corner, but mentioned my taste-dilema. He then goes on to say that it's a KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED SIDE-EFFECT that will probably go away in 4 weeks. 4 weeks??? Hahaha. I was stunned. Apparently, during the operation, your tongue gets clamped or something which may or may not do a number on your tastebuds. And so I'm f$%ked. At any rate, looking on the brightside, at least I didn't have bleeding which happens to 6% of tonsillectomies. Whew. Today however, somebody treated me to some Filipino food (boiled beef, fried fish, pork barbecue and flan) -- and I was able to taste most of it. This I believe is due to the fact that Filipino food has a lot of strong flavors. I hope that I can taste normally again soon. But aside from that, I think I'm okay! It's like it's been almost 3 weeks with this thing. Unbelievable.

So am I singing again? I'm trying. A little coarse on the high notes. Still struggling with Defying Gravity, haha. But at least I'm not snoring, which was one of the many reasons I wanted to go through this operation -- I used to wake myself up snoring, it was that bad -- who's that making that noise? Oh, it's me, back to sleep.

Again, thanks for all the support, and I hope everyone is patient as I try to straighten things up again. I mean, who blogs and goes to work after a painful tonsillectomy? Apparently, me! I love you all!
