Poll: Who's going home tonight? American Idol 10 Top 13 + Results Prediction
Who's going home tonight?
I'm choosing between Karen Rodriguez, Ashton Jones and Haley Reinhart.
The target is really on Haley Reinhart I think. She sang at the beginning of the second half of the show which is always the danger zone at this point in the competition. Also, Randy Jackson stuck to the script in putting her down even if she was actually decent. Did that influence the audience? I don't know, but I do know that Haley has a lot of loyal fans, so I am giving her the pass this week.
Ashton Jones did not sing well, and that will never get you votes. She also sang early which is not a good thing. Right now, she is the least popular contestant in terms of pageviews on the blog. However, I do feel a Syesha Mercado survivor vibe in her, and I don't think they will let her go this soon -- specially after surviving the Wild Card last week. Knowing how Nigel operates, the contestants who are most likely to leave, eventually leave one or two episodes later, when we "think" they have gained momentum. That may change this season, but I'm sticking to what I know. Asthon is safe for now.
Karen Rodriguez sang comfortably towards the end of the show, but singing poorly did not help her. Add the double whammy of Scotty and Naima singing after her and making huge impacts with the audience, and we could see the first elimination tonight in Karen.
In a nutshell: Ashton is the obvious choice, so I'm not choosing her. Haley and Karen not so obvious, but I am choosing Karen because I think Haley has a bigger following. Plus: Karen had the full-on red light treatment, while Ashton had a bit of violet to her own red lights.
My pick to leave: Karen.
Some added analysis: I do not think these three will end up in the Bottom 3 together. I think they will put Lauren Alaina in there or possibly Stefano Langone. I think the first 3 eliminations are 2 girls and 1 boy with my elimination "pool" being: Ashton, Haley, Karen, Thia, Stefano and Jacob. My feeling right now is Karen, Haley and Jacob will not make the tour -- but check with me again next week.
