Platinum Hit - Dance Floor Royalty

I have to admit, it felt like I was the only one watching Platinum Hit after last week's dismal ratings. BravoTV had the clips up even before the show ended on the East Coast. However, it's nice to know that David Hernandez is still watching:

From @itsdavidyo:

Holy ****! Me & @ScottyGranger & Dean just wrote a beautiful song. Ps. Scotty is also on tv right now. Tune into Bravo #platinumhit

I am not alone!

Anyway, for this week...

Hook Challenge: Dance Music!

Guest Judge: Donna Summer

3rd place: Scotty
2nd place: Karen
1st place: Brian

The teams have one day to complete the song and the songs will be debuted on a real life dance floor.

Brian team: Jes, Jackie - He chose not to pick a fourth member. Their song was "My Ridiculous"

Karen's team - Blessing, Amber, Johnny. Their song was "Make It Easy"

Scotty's team - Nick, Melissa, Sonyae. Their song was "Paint This Club with Amazing". Nick and Sonyae hate each other, but they were able to put aside their differences in the studio.

I actually like "My Ridiculous" the best, but "Paint This Club with Amazing" was also good. "Make It Easy" was clearly the worst song.

Results:

"Paint This Club with Amazing" won. Unfortunately, Brian's team made the mistake of letting the girls sing the melody instead of Brian, and the uniqueness of the hook got lost.

Blessing was eliminated. He "opted" out of the writing session because he said dance music was not his genre and the judges called him out on it. Awww. I liked Blessing and his seeing eye dog.

Nick, Sonyae and Jackie Tohn really need to step it up with the drama since this show is beginning to look like another by the numbers reality show from Bravo. The elimination process is really awkward and actually doesn't make much sense.

It might get better when we are left with less people, but by that time all interest may be lost on the show.

Here are the videos from tonight's episode:

Make It Easy by Karen Waldrup, Blessing Offor, and Johnny Marnell

My Ridiculous by Brian Judah, Jes Hudak, and Jackie Tohn

"Paint This Club with Amazing" by Scotty Granger, Nicki Nittoli, Melissa Rapp, and Sonyae Elise.
