The cast of the hit film Pitch Perfect are heading back into the studio, and it's not for the hotly-anticipated sequel, due in 2015. It's for an album set to release much sooner...

AV Club reports that Universal is planning to capitalize on the continued success of Anna Kendrick’s “Cups” single, which has spent 32 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, by reuniting the cast of Pitch Perfect to record a Christmas record.

Cast member Hana Mae Lee tells MTV she’s “pretty sure” the whole album will be a cappella, and that she will be singing “Silent Night.” While a rep for Universal confirmed plans for the Christmas album, details such as track listing were not made available.
