Pitbull Will Host FOX's New Year's Eve Live Show
Pitbull will ring in the New Year with FOX.
The rapper will be hosting FOX's live New Year’s Eve coverage, beginning at 8:00 PM on December 31st, and continuing until 10:00 PM, at which point the show will take a break for local news before returning from 11:00 PM to 12:30 a.m. Broadcast live from the rapper's native Miami, Pitbull will perform alongside several big name musical guests, which will be announced closer to the date of the big show, which will be titled Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution.
“The world needs to get ready to un-mute New Year’s Eve, because we are taking the party from the Big Apple to the Pineapple. New Year's Eve is officially in Miami and hosted by yours truly, Mr. Worldwide. P.S. Whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but whatever happens in Miami never happened, Daleee!” said Pitbull in a statement.
“Pitbull is one of the most charismatic entertainers in the world. We are thrilled he has chosen Fox as the home from which to launch this New Year’s Revolution,” added Fox’s executive VP of alternative entertainment Simon Andreae. “This event will be packed with chart-topping acts and can't-miss surprises. With Pitbull in charge, it's sure to be the hottest party on the planet.”
So it looks like Ryan Seacrest has a serious challenger for his crown as Dick Clark's heir apparent as King of New Year's Eve, as reports suggest that FOX chief Kevin Reilly is interested in the possibility of this becoming a yearly arrangement. If nothing else, I imagine the figurative crown would look far better on Pitbull than on Seacrest anyway. You know, less hair to get all messed up.
