Pilot from 'Happy Endings' Creator Lands at NBC

Happy Endings may have come to an end, but creator David Caspe isn't giving up on TV comedy.
Marry Me, the latest comedy pilot created by Caspe, has received a pilot order from NBC. Written by Caspe, the sitcom centers on a couple that gets engaged, only to discover that engagement is much harder than it looks. The pilot will be produced by Sony, with Caspe, Seth Gordon and Jamie Tarses serving as executive producers. Gordon will also direct the pilot episode.
Honestly, the premise doesn't sound all that different from the pilot for Happy Endings, in which two characters are about to get married, only for the bride to realize it isn't what she wants. Of course, Happy Endings evolved into something entirely different by the end, becoming one of the best comedies on TV across three seasons. I wonder if Elisha Cuthbert and Zachary Knighton are available for the lead roles?
