Piero Tosi receives Honorary Oscar - 2013 Governors Awards - Video

Legendary costume designer Piero Tosi was a trailblazer in the field, with notable films including Senso, Bellissima, The Leopard, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, and Death in Venice, to name a few. Over the course of his career, Tosi has twice won the David di Donatello for Best Costumes, in addition to two BAFTA Awards for Best Costume Design. But the icon has never won an Oscar despite five nominations. However, that has all changed with the 2013 Governors Awards, as Tosi was awarded an honorary Oscar of his own.

Tosi was unfortunately unable to attend the ceremony, but Italian actress Claudia Cardinale, costumed by Tosi in 1963's The Leopard, was on hand to accept the award in his honor. You can watch the full video below:
