Pia Toscano was at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City yesterday at the Teen Vogue Haute Spot. She spoke to Wetpaint about her new album which will be released in November. She says she already has 8 songs right now.

Pia took the stage at the Teen Vogue Haute Spot during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where guests snacked on mini-cupcakes and took in some of the upcoming season’s hottest trends, while Pia belted out a pitch-perfect rendition of “This Time.” After the performance, she spoke exclusively to Wetpaint Entertainment about her forthcoming album, how Idol changed her life, and her friendship with Dancing With the Stars cutie Mark Ballas.

“American Idol was so amazing,” Pia exclaimed. “It’s basically been a crash course in the music industry — it catapults your career and opens so many doors. Just being with 10 contestants that love to do what I love to do — I mean, we’ve bonded so much. We’re on tour now, and I’m upset that it’s ending.”

But once the tour closes, it’s straight back to work: “As soon as I get off tour, I’ll finish the album,” she says. “November, the album will be released. We’re about 8 or 9 songs in right now.”
