PHOTO: Sum 41 Frontman Deryck Whibley Frail After Alcohol Hospitalization

Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley is in rough shape, sadly.

The singer appeared in public for the first time since announcing on Friday, in a blog post, that he'd been in the hospital for the past month for severe alcohol abuse. Apparently, he nearly died from his addiction, with his liver and kidneys collapsing on him. His doctors went as far as to tell Whibley he would die if he had so much as one more drink.

And so Whibley dedicated himself to getting well: "the reason i got so sick is from all the hard boozing i’ve been doing over the years. it finally caught up to me."

During a walk in Los Angeles, Whibley was supported by fiance Jocelyn Aguilar (the woman on the left) and another, unidentified woman. Check out the current pic and a before photo from his brief marriage to Avril Lavigne below:
