PHOTO: Neil Patrick Harris Naked On The Cover of Rolling Stone
Neil Patrick Harris is the newest star on the cover of Rolling Stone, which hits newsstands on Friday (May 9). Only wearing a black bowtie and a black top hat over his genitals, Neil's body looks amazing after gaining an eight-pack for his role in Broadway's Hedwig and The Angry Inch.
He plays a transsexual German glam rocker, which his fiancé David Burtka said was a difficult adjustment for him. "I didn't think he could pull off the femininity of it," he said. "This is such a stretch for him. In his day-to-day, he's not a very feminine guy." Neil, after all, soared to fame after he portrayed serial womanizer Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother for nine years, so it's probably a stretch for his fans too.
Neil also tells the magazine how coming out helped his career rather than hurt it. "Once all the cards were on the table, I got more opportunities than ever," he said. "Some actors don't get hired because you can't look into their soul and see what they're like, because they're kept guarded." He does admit it was more difficult to tell his family, however.
