Phillip Phillips Receives First Platinum Record for "Home" on Today Show

Phillip Phillips received his first platinum record for "Home" on the Today Show this morning.  How exciting for him!  He also performed the single on the show.

Phillip's voice seemed a bit worn down for his performance of the platinum certified hit "Home," but it was great to see him actually receive his platinum record.  Phillip has been making a ton of appearances, along with doing the AI tour, so I'm sure he is looking forward to getting a bit of vocal rest when the tour finishes its run.

Receiving his platinum record on NBC's Today Show only seemed appropriate given the boost the song got when NBC used it as a sort of theme song for women's gymnastics during the London Olympics.

"Home" is a great song and I'm glad Phillip has had such success with it.  I like what I've heard so far from the rest of his debut album and I hope he has the same sort of success with his own songs.
