Folk Singer Pete Seeger Dead at 94

Sad news for the folk music world today, singer and activist Pete Seeger has passed away due to natural causes. He was 94.
Seeger's grandson Kitama Cahill-Jackson confirmed the news, saying his grandfather passed at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital yesterday (Jan. 27) after spending six days there.
An activist in the Civil Right's Movement, Seger is crediting with turning the Baptist song "I’ll Overcome Someday" into the movement's famous "We Shall Overcome."
Seeger also fought for migrant workers, college students and most recently marched with Occupy Wall Street protestors in his 90s.
He also penned the songs "Turn, Turn, Turn," "If I Had a Hammer" and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone."
He will be missed.
