Person of Interest - Witness - Recap

Reese and Finch try to rescue a school teacher from a most certain death after he witnesses a mob hit by the Russian mob. Reese gets to him before the killers do and tries to get him out of his apartment alive. The witness is hit and Reese's cell phone is destroyed leaving him unable to contact Finch.

Without any other option, he takes the witness to hide in a building that is in a territory the Russians aren't allowed to go.

Finch becomes desperate when he can't get in touch with his buddy Reese so he turns to Lionel, the cop that Reese has been relying on. He asks him for help uncovering a corrupt cop who may be behind it all. Everyone seems to be looking for someone named "Elias." He's elusive and no one really knows what he looks like. He's the boss and he's running things for his side of the mob war.

Reese fixes up the witness while they're hiding out in the building. He finds a way out and calls Finch to meet him at a pier. Almost immediately, Finch's text is reiterated to the corrupt cop. Finch believes that Lionel has betrayed them but Reese is the one being played. With his back turned, the witness pulls a gun on Reese and reveals that he is the elusive Elias and is in fact behind it all. Whoa. I didn't see that one coming at all.
