Before I begin recapping, I just want to say that I saw Taraji P. Henson—who plays Detective Carter—in person last Thursday (October 11)! My reaction to seeing her was: “OMG! It’s Detective Carter!” I attended the Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston taping/concert, and Taraji was one of the guest speakers at the taping! (I got these tickets for free, by the way, and it was so much fun!!!) I also got to see Halle Berry, Jennifer Hudson, Britney Spears, LL Cool J, Clive Davis, Usher, Cissy Houston, & Yolanda Adams! I’ve seen Usher before.... but, as for the other celebs, it was my first time seeing them in person. I just SAW them on stage.... I didn’t get to actually meet them because I didn’t want to buy expensive VIP tickets, LOL :P.

So.... back to the show. Here is this week’s recap:

21-year-old Sophia Campos is the daughter of a Brazilian diplomat named Hector Campos. Over the last several years, Hector has hired several bodyguards for Sophia to protect her from the paparazzi & dangerous people. Since her number came up in “The Machine,” Finch (MIchael Emerson) & Reese (Jim Caviezel) had to figure out a way to protect her.... so Reese followed her and her bodyguard into a retail store. Reese quickly placed a Rolex watch (from the store) into the bodyguard’s pocket.... this led to him getting arrested for “shoplifting.” (The bodyguard didn’t even realize that Reese had put the watch in his pocket). Later in the episode, Hector interviewed several people for the position of “Sophia’s New Bodyguard” (including Reese). Reese used a fake name—John Randall—during the interview... and, he was hired on the spot!

This week's person of interest: Sophia Campos

When Sophia and Reese were shopping, Sophia made an excuse saying that she’ll “be right back”.... but she used this opportunity to sneak out of the clothing store, and into the arms of her secret boyfriend, Jack. He’s her “secret” boyfriend because her father, Hector, isn’t aware that his daughter is in a relationship. When Reese & Sophia got back home, she showed him a video she took of a penthouse party that she was at. A man named Paul Romano, who was at this party, jumped off of the balcony at the penthouse. He died. This man was involved in a gang called “14 Street Mafia,” and all of the gang members have branding tattoos on their necks. The other members of this gang tried to attack Sophia and her best friend, Gabby, at a nightclub. Fortunately, Reese was there to kick the gangsters’ asses..... but since he is only Sophia’s bodyguard, it wasn’t his job to look after Gabby. (Gabby was found dead after she left the nightclub).

Reese, Sophia, & Gabby

Reese wanted to find the person who killed Gabby, so he asked Detective Fusco (Kevin Chapman) to temporarily look after Sophia. Fusco made the mistake of letting Sophia “get some air” and “be alone for awhile.” She used to opportunity to sneak out the window to meet her boyfriend, Jack. This was a huge mistake as Jack was revealed to also be a member of the “14 Street Mafia” gang. (Finch spotted him in the video Sophia took of the penthouse party). Thankfully, Fusco got there just in time to prevent Sophia from getting murdered by her boyfriend. Jack was later arrested for the murder of Gabby, for the attempted murder of Sophia, and for his involvement in a gang. Also: Hector Campos is running for President of Brazil, so Sophia will be returning to Brazil for her father’s presidential election.

Sophia's boyfriend, Jack

When Detective Carter (Taraji P. Henson) was at the morgue to evaluate Alicia Corwin’s  dead body, she ran into Agent Snow (Michael Kelly) of the CIA. At the end of the episode, it was revealed that he had a bomb strapped to his body.

Finch also made best friends with Bear, the dog from Episode 1 of Season 2.

The next episode airs Thursday, 10/25 at 9pm ET on CBS. Tune in then!
