The boys are in over their head when a creepy playboy appears to be serial killing his dates. This is a job for the ladies.

Person of Interest: "Lady Killer" recap:

The episode starts off with Shaw (Sarah Shahi) and Reese (Jim Caviezel) on a "date". They're in one of those rowboats in Central Park, spying on our latest number. I feel like this scene attempted to be cute and funny with the two of them bickering over who got to row the boat but it came across badly. Shaw comes across very monotonous and one dimensional. It's getting a bit tiring. Thankfully, she progresses as the episode goes on.

Our latest number is Ian. He's a playboy with a million dates. The difference is, he keeps creepy files on them with intimate details of their lives. The boys decide this is a job for the ladies and round up Carter, Zoe, and Shaw and have put them in sexy attire. They tell Shaw to stop looking so angry and this is, perhaps, the start of the show bringing more to her character. She loves Bear. I did really enjoy watching the girls fangirl over their weapons.

Using the girls as bait, they trap Ian into a date with Carter. While at dinner, Shaw learns a little more about Reese's relationships. "How long have you and Zoe been 'special friends'?" "Carter and I are just friends."

It's not long before two goons show up to kill Ian and it slowly becomes apparent that he is not the bad guy in the episode. Kinda bummed. I was hoping he was a serial killer. It was turning out to be an episode of SVU for awhile there. It turns out the father of an ex girlfriend wants him dead. He doesn't want him to claim his son that was kept secret from him because he's an heir.

Meanwhile, Root is busy plotting her escape with The Machine. The Machine helps to neutralize everyone in the entire facility. I am loving this entire exchange as Root explains to her doctor what's happening, as it's happening. His face is priceless. Even better is the face on Finch when he walks in and realizes Root has escaped and left the man who wants to kill her alive.
