Person of Interest - Recap - Season 3 Episode 18 - Allegiance

I was not feeling this episode of Person of Interest. I love this show but sometimes there are episodes that just cause me to give a major side-eye. If an episode could have an ego, I imagine this one would.

The latest number of the week is Maria. A woman with ties to the United Nations has Finch (Michael Emerson), Shaw (Sarah Shahi), and Reese (Jim Caviezel) concerned that she could be a terrorist. Is she the victim or the perp? I'm hoping for a bit of a mix-up this week. It's been awhile since they switched it up.

Maria is not in fact planning a terrorist event but is only trying to get her friend out of jail. He's being held on suspicions of terrorism but he's really just a ploy in a much bigger political plot over the sale of generators.

Because she knows too much, it's not long before a few French gunmen try to take Maria out. Not about to let that happen, Reese not only stops one of them, but dives on top of him and they both tumble out of a window. Reese literally jumps out of an apartment window, crashing through the glass and the two crash into the car below. Now, there are quite a bit of floors between them and the ground. There's no way he would walk away with nothing but a scratch. Come on, now. A man Maria trusted is behind the whole thing. Thankfully, Reese is in a firefighter's uniform and saves the day.

Root (Amy Acker) isn't with our gang this week. She's busy tracking Greer, the Decima guy trying to get Samaritan online. He knows that Root is on to him and starts to manipulate the machine as he walks. He turns off both visuals and audio so she can't track him. Realizing what he's now able to do, Root borrows Bear to catch up with him. Always having the upper hand, he decides not to kill Root. Instead, he offers her a chance to team up with him.

What will she decide? Can we trust her? Will she sacrifice herself to free the Machine in the finale? What did you think of this episode? I thought it was a bit of a downgrade from last week.
