Pentatonix perform 'That Thing You Do' at Kennedy Center Honors 2014 (VIDEO)

Pentatonix performed 'That Thing You Do' at the Kennedy Center Honors 2014 honoring Tom Hanks.

Tom Hanks directed The Wonders where 'That Thing You Do' was the featured song. (Oops, That Thing You Do! was the title of the movie. The Wonders was the name of the band in the movie. Google failed me again.)

You could tell that Tom and his wife Rita Wilson are big fans of Pentatonix as they smiled in glee from the audience.

Pentatonix have truly become global superstars after winning The Sing-Off Season 3. They are probably the biggest stars NBC has produced in their reality singing competitions through the years.

Their album That's Christmas To Me was the highest charting Christmas album by a group since 1962 on Billboard. Amazing!

Al Green, Tom Hanks, ballerina Patricia McBride, Sting and Lily Tomlin were the honorees at the 37th annual gala hosted by Stephen Colbert.
