Paula Abdul: "No regrets about leaving American Idol"
It was the correct decision Paula Abdul!
Paula gave an interview to TV Guide Magazine about her decision to leave American Idol.
Some highlights:
Is it just about the money?
It's never...I stand on principle where many people stand on money. I'm a hard-working artist. I've lasted in this business for 23 years. And you can't do that unless you are good at what you do. I believe in myself and you have to have your own self respect. And sometimes decisions are very difficult to make, but I've always believed that at the core I'm a survivor. There's not one thing I've done that I've really set my mind to that I've failed at.
So what do you want to do next?
It's been incredible. I feel like I'm having the best time of my life right now.

I have to disagree a little bit with Paula Abdul here: Yes, it was about the money. Money goes hand-in-hand with your decision. If it was merely on principle then you would have accepted the offer since 1. You love what you do no matter what price, and 2. Fox showed that they appreciated your services by offering to get you back and giving you a raise from your last contract.
Nevertheless, it is the correct decision to leave Paula. All these doors have been opened up to you now, and hopefully you will get the TV Talk Show that you are hoping to get out of this. (But please consider: Dance with the stars Paula, dance!)
