Paul Akister sang 'Try A Little Tenderness' on The X Factor UK Live Show 3 on October 25, 2014.

I thought this was a wonderful arrangement of a classic, allowing Paul to show a more current side without losing his soul edge. I still think Paul has the occasional habit of oversinging, but there's no denying that the guy has an amazing voice. His tone alone is enough to elevate just about any song he chooses to sing. And if it's a song that fits his voice, like this one? Forget about it. For the most part, I think Paul has been having a really solid competition so far, delivering a decent variety of performances that allow him to show the full range of his capabilities as an artist. I'm immensely impressed with Paul each week, even though I occasionally forget he's even in the competition. In fact, I'm kind of surprised I'm even saying that, since Paul was an early favorite of mine. Eh, maybe I'm just suffering from brain rot from too many singing competitions. Either way, I hope Paul sticks around. He absolutely deserves to.
