Paul Akister sang 'If You Don't Know Me By Now' on The X Factor UK 2014 Live Show 2 on October 18, 2014.

Pre-performance: Paul isn't sure about being a diva, like Simon recommended last week, but he's willing to work hard. He'll be singing "If You Don't Know Me By Now," and this could honestly be the best performance of the night if they deliver a stripped back arrangement to highlight Paul's voice. He's one of the best singers in the entire competition, and this is one of the best song choices of the night, simply for how it could potentially match the singer's voice.

Nick's Thoughts: And Paul immediately delivers on the potential of the song choice. Granted, I would have kept the arrangement simple like it was in the beginning, but I have no real problems with the soaring instrumentation and choral backing vocals, especially since Paul's voice more than rises to the occasion. He's just SUCH an impressive singer, with great vocal range and tremendous passion. Loved this.

Judges: Louis calls it his favorite performance of the season so far, while Cheryl says Paul took her back to her childhood. Simon agrees and says Paul sang it brilliantly. However, he feels Paul needs to learn how to perform better, saying it comes from inner confidence. He asks Paul if he plays the piano, and Paul admits he does, a little bit. Simon thinks he should give that a try, since he feels Paul needs something like that in his performance. He's torn a bit because he loves Paul, but not his stage presence. Louis thinks Simon is crazy. As does Mel B, who thinks Paul is a great singer, and is gradually becoming really sexy.
