Paul Akister sings 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' on The X Factor UK 2014 (VIDEO)

Paul Akister sang 'Bridge Over Troubled Water on The X Factor UK 2014 Judges' Houses.

Once again, Paul delivered a customarily excellent vocal. I do feel he tends to overdo it a bit with his inflection and his runs, like he's overemphasizing every note of every song. He's far better when he simply loses himself in a song, like he did towards the end of this performance. That said, even with the minor issues I had with Paul's theatricality, I thought it was a beautiful vocal. His tone is just lovely, and his vocal control is outstanding. Paul is one of the best singers in the competition this year, and I just don't think the Live Shows would be the same without him.

But what do you think of Paul Akister?

RESULT

PAUL AKISTER is through to Live Shows!

Absolutely the right result, of course. Paul could be a real contender if Mel B keeps him in his R&B/Soul niche.
