Paris Jackson rejected by rehab facility

Paris Jackson continues her troubled path toward recovery. Unfortunately for her, that path won't lead out of California state.

The teen's request to be transferred from UCLA Medical Center to a top out-of-state facility has been rejected, reports TMZ.

The reason?

The rehab facility fears a barrage of paparazzi.

Sources close to the situation state that UCLA docs will not let Paris return home, as they believe she still presents a serious danger to herself. Their professional opinion is that Jackson could end up killing herself if she doesn't complete treatment.

Apparently, Paris' biological mother, Debbie Rowe, had been researching adolescent facilities around the country, and found one in Utah that she felt would be a perfect fit for her daughter. However, the request was denied not only because of the threat photographers would pose to Jackson's recovery, but also because of the threat paparazzos might pose to the recovery of other patients at the facility.

Rowe is reportedly dissatisfied with the other options on the table, so she's continuing her search for a different rehab facility, although she apparently hasn't completely given up on the Utah facility, as she is said to be asking for reconsideration.

As for now, Paris will remain at UCLA. According to sources, the teen is being housed in the wing for patients with eating disorders -- a problem Paris is not purported to have.

Rowe is understandably vocal about her daughter's plight, telling friends, "It's just a tragedy. This girl needs help."
